This is Jim. In his 70's and paralyzed from the chest down many years ago, he now gets around in a wheelchair. That hasn't stopped him from riding, putting 40,000 miles on this motorcycle / side car combination. Most of the them while living in Texas, but he still rides around Union Center, WI. In fact, he just had a new chain and spocket put on this Hondamatic 750 (2 speed automatic).<br /><br />All the controls and steering column have been transferred to the side car. The back end has a short ramp that is folded down so that he can wheel himself in and pull up the ramp.Jim Harmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16493661324072969819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27613005.post-42049030928753186772007-02-18T08:00:00.000-08:002007-02-18T08:03:17.326-08:00Schettl's Freight Sales<a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_-l9Tsria1bA/Rdh4N77TjLI/AAAAAAAAAA0/KMWDHW2Ib5Q/s1600-h/Schettls_Freight_Cycle01.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5032904764406598834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_-l9Tsria1bA/Rdh4N77TjLI/AAAAAAAAAA0/KMWDHW2Ib5Q/s320/Schettls_Freight_Cycle01.JPG" border="0" /></a> <div>On a cycle trip to Door County in June 2006, I stopped at Schettl's Freight Sales, near Oshkosh, Wi. Several 'mixed breed' motorcycles on the grounds, including this very large part Schwinn, part Chevy, and part who knows what. Lots of fiberglass statues and weird things made out of scrap metal, etc. Most are for sale or rent. Look for the big Moose signs off Highway US 41. Here is one link that describes it. Travel 8.6 miles to Ontario and you'll pass Amish farms, a round barn, and views of Wildcat Mountain State Park. From Ontario I took the very popular Highway 33. Excellent twisties for many miles!<br /><br />August 2006 Jim HarmsJim Harmshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16493661324072969819noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27613005.post-1147553080941870752006-05-13T13:44:00.000-07:002006-05-13T13:44:40.940-07:00About the BlogWelcome to the Madison BMW Club's blog. The location is highway 40 just west of Calgary, Alberta. We had just topped a pass at 7,250 feet and were headed down the other side when I came around a corner and saw these sheep. I pulled in the clutch and coasted up to the sheep not wanting to spook the flock. I need not have worried. The ram came up to me and nudged one hand as I was reaching for my camera. When he decided I had not treats in my hand he gave a few head butts to my dry bag behind me then joined the rest of the flock that was already surrounding Karen and John. -Edwin Burington . <a href="http://picasa.google.com/blogger/" target="ext"><img style="BORDER-RIGHT: 0px; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP: 0px; PADDING-LEFT: 0px; BACKGROUND: 0% 50%; PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-LEFT: 0px; PADDING-TOP: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM: 0px; moz-background-clip: initial; moz-background-origin: initial; moz-background-inline-policy: initial" alt="Posted by Picasa" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif" align="middle" border="0" /></a>Markusnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27613005.post-1147550957875555562006-05-13T13:07:00.000-07:002006-05-13T13:09:17.880-07:002006 New Year's Pics<a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/1024/new%20years%20motorcycle%20029.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/400/new%20years%20motorcycle%20029.jpg" border="0" /></a> Have to love this bike.<br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/1024/new%20years%20motorcycle%20026.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/400/new%20years%20motorcycle%20026.jpg" border="0" /></a> <br /><a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/1024/new%20years%20motorcycle%20037.jpg"><img style="DISPLAY: block; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/400/new%20years%20motorcycle%20037.jpg" border="0" /></a> The Quaker Steak and Lube. <a href='http://picasa.google.com/blogger/' target='ext'><img src='http://photos1.blogger.com/pbp.gif' alt='Posted by Picasa' style='border: 0px none ; padding: 0px; background: transparent none repeat scroll 0% 50%; -moz-background-clip: initial; -moz-background-origin: initial; -moz-background-inline-policy: initial;' align='middle' border='0' /></a> Markusnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27613005.post-1146872403445597872006-05-05T16:36:00.000-07:002006-05-13T13:05:16.483-07:00New Year's Ride<a href="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/1600/IMG_0077.jpg"><img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3162/2912/320/IMG_0077.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />To wecome in 2006, we got on our bike and headed to the Capitol to join the annual New Year's Ride. There was some great bikes, including this Toaster. The ride was a bit windy, but not too cold. We ended at the Quaker Steak and Lube in Middleton.Markusnoreply@blogger.com
